The U.S.-led Coalition deploy more forces on the Syrian-Turkish borders

Military sources from Tal Abyad Military Council in northern Syria told North-Press that the U.S.-led Coalition have increased their military presence on the bordering posts with Turkey, following the Turkish threats to launch an unilateral operation against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria.
The military sources confirmed that the existing U.S. forces within the observation posts on the Syrian-Turkish borders have brought more military reinforcements to those posts, accompanied by heavy weapons and armored vehicles.
The sources added that the U.S. forces are conducting reconnaissance and patrols on the borders to prevent any Turkish assault against the region.
North-Press reporter in Tal Abyad reported an intensive overflights of the Coalition warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft over the proposed security mechanism areas.
These developments come after the Turkish Erdogan’s announcement of giving instructions to launch an imminent military assault in eastern Euphrates region in northern Syria.
The U.S. Department of State yesterday confirmed that it continues to uphold the support of the agreed security mechanism on the Syrian-Turkish borders, noting that the position of the State Department have not changed in this regard.
The Pentagon spokesman told North-Press yesterday that the U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper had addressed his Turkish counterpart on Saturday evening about the firm U.S. position that the joint cooperation is needed to make the security mechanism work on the ground, as the best solution for the region. He added: “We had a joint patrol just roaming around, and that’s what we are focusing on right now”. He stressed that the plan of the security mechanism will be implemented in a specific, coordinated and based on mutual cooperation.
