Attempted advance by Turkish-backed armed groups, accompanied by air and ground bombardment

Fierce clashes continue between the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, mostly Islamist militias under an umbrella name of Syrian National Army, in conjunction with intensive air and ground bombardment by Turkish military on the villages in northern countryside of the town of Tal Tamr, northeastern Syria, causing human casualties.
North-Press monitored heavy clashes that have been going on since last night, in the villages of Qasimiya, Rihaniya, Hawisha and Daoudia, amid intensive shelling by Turkish armed groups on these villages.
As fighting was accompanied by Turkish drones airstrikes, on positions in the lines of contact between the SDF and Turkey’s armed groups.
Furthermore, the armed opposition groups are continuing their attempts to control more villages in Tal Tamr countryside, while the Syriac Military Council and the SDF attempt to repel the military assault by the attacking forces, outside the regional-international agreement areas.
Reliable sources confirmed the death of a number of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups' militants, including a senior commander in “Sultan Murad” militia, and the injury of others.
The Syriac Military Council, which is deployed in the countryside of Tal Tamr, on the lines of contact with Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, within the northern countryside of the town, revealed the death of one of its fighters and the capture of 3 others, following an attack on Rihaniya, in Tal Tamr northern countryside.
The armed opposition groups also shelled the villages of Um al-Kaif, Rashidiya, Qasimiya, and Rihaniya, and other areas linking them with other villages in Tal Tamr and Abu Rasin (Zargan) countryside, in an attempt by the armed opposition groups to advance in the area and control more lands.
