The General Command of the Self-Protection Forces issued a general amnesty on Friday, for members fleeing their forces since the start of the Turkish military invasion in northeastern Syria on the 9th of last October. The amnesty included "all cases of internal and external desertions," while deserters were required to "go to the centers of Self-Protection Forces within a maximum period of 15 days."

The circulation issued by the Self-Protection Forces Command explained the reasons for the amnesty, as "displacement, loss of civilian lives and desertions of self-defense."

These cases, in turn, were the result of "the current conditions we are experiencing and because of the Turkish military invasion and occupation, along with its mercenaries, of the territories of north-eastern Syria, which forced our units to confront this brutal invasion, which used the most warfare methods of weapons, warplanes and chemical weapons against our people," the statement said.
