Internal Security Forces in northeastern Syria capture 120 ISIS sleeper cells members

The Internal Security Forces "Asayish" in north-eastern Syria held a press conference today, on Monday, in which it revealed the annual statistic for the work of all their security services in northeastern Syria. The Asayish spokesman, Ali al-Hassan told North-Press that, "during 2019, they have thwarted a large number of terrorist operations aimed at destabilizing security in northeastern Syria.” He added that, "they defused many motorcycles, cars, and booby trapped tanks, indicating that the cases were greater than the previous years.”

Al-Hassan went on saying that after their control on Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tal-Abyad (Gre-Spi), the Turkish military and its affiliated armed groups tried to pressure the security forces with the fabricated explosions to "destabilize the confidence of the people with them.” He also pointed that more than 20 thousand members of the Asayish forces are being deployed during the Christmas period in northeastern Syria "in order to prevent terrorist attacks and to secure the celebrations.”

The official statement of the Internal Security Forces revealed that their Public Security Agency captured 120 sleeper cells members, in addition to capturing 644 "terrorist" members.

The statement added that the number of bombings which had targeted the whole areas of northeastern Syria have reached 358 in all kinds of explosions, while the number of joint operations with the Global Coalition forces in pursuing terrorist cells have reached 80 operations, during the year.
