20 thousand tons of Tal Abyad wheat plundered by Turkish military and affiliated armed groups

The Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups continue to plunder, rob, and seize the wealth of the areas under their control in north and north-eastern Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that the Turkish forces are working to take wheat from Tal Abyad (Gre-Spi) areas, which are under their control, noting that 20 thousand tons of stolen grains were transferred into Turkey, through those import operations.

According to the Syrian Observatory, a contract for the transportation of 20 thousand tons of grain from Tal Abyad has been submitted to a bid, and the contract has been offered to the Turkish shipping company “Öz-Duy”, while the grain is transported into storage silos of the Turkish Grain Authority "TMO " in the Turkish city of Sanliurfa.

Moreover, the Syrian Observatory confirmed that the leader in "Ahrar al-Sharqiya" armed group, who is the brother of the head of Tal Abyad local council and a number of people, bought the crop stolen from Tal Abyad and Suluk silos from al-Jabha al-Shamiya, Jaish al-Islam and Ahrar al-Sharqiya, to be transferred into prefabricated warehouses near al-Bello Gas Station in Tal Abyad.

Dehliz silos in the town of Suluk contained 11 thousand and 400 tons of wheat, and al-Sakhrat silos south of Tal Abyad contained 11 thousand tons of wheat. In addition, there are 26 thousand tons of barley inside the two mentioned silos, beside 9,000 tons of wheat and 11 thousand tons of barley in Sharakrak silos, according to the Syrian observatory, and stressed that the local council in Tal Abyad is being ordered to transfer the grains, as these operations take places in the curfew hours, imposed by the same council on the town of Tal Abyad.
