According to local sources from the towns of Nubl and Zahraa in northern Aleppo countryside indicated that the Iranian forces in Syria have sent military reinforcements to the two towns in the context of the military developments that may take place in Aleppo.
The sources added that the northern fronts of Aleppo could be ignited, especially in the outskirts of Nubl and Zahraa with the start of the military operation to which the Syrian forces are mobilized, where local forces from the towns are called "Popular Committees", supervised by members of Hezbollah and military officers from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
These forces were also responsible for the security and protection of the two towns, which played a key role in protecting them during the siege and contributed actively to opening the road from Aleppo into northern Aleppo countryside, and lifting the siege on Nubl and Zahraa, the two towns have been undergoing relative calmness for more than two years.
Abu Salman, a leader in the Popular Committees told North-Press: "We have reinforced our military presence on the fronts of Tamura and Anadan, southwest of Zahraa, where there are militant groups related to jihadi group (al-Nusra Front), especially the Turkistan Islamic Party (an armed Uyghur Salafist jihadist group), we have also sent reinforcements to our eastern fronts in Hayan and Bayanoun since any action will not be spared from defense or attack.”
Abu Salman denied the presence of large Iranian forces in the outskirts of Nubl and Zahraa, as "the Iranians are present as military advisers in both towns and in Shahbah areas in northern Aleppo," he said.
He added that the absence of major battles at the moment in Nubl and Zahraa does not mean that the fronts are not witnessing any fighting or mutual bombing operations between them and the armed opposition groups deployed in western, southern and eastern outskirts of the two towns.
Tawfiq Mohiyddin, is a fighter from the Popular Committees, he said that they have responded to many infiltration attempts by the armed opposition groups on their positions, and they have also targeted their suspicious movements in the outskirts of the area, adding: “We have been living in a state of war for years, so we must be fully prepared to repel any attack.”
In light of the accelerating events in Aleppo and in light of the increasing military mobilizations of the Syrian government forces that successively reach the fronts of Aleppo, the Iranian forces represented by the Popular Committees in Nubl and Zahraa are strengthening their presence on the fronts in northern Aleppo countryside.
Military data indicate that there would not be in a state of relative calmness as it has been for years in the two towns, but rather that it will witness fierce battles, so that on this basis the Iranian military forces have arranged their calculations, and they will return to the battlefields after they were largely excluded from, especially with the growing Russian role in Aleppo and its countryside, and with the presence of the Turkish-Russian coordination, it is preferable that Iran has no military or political presence in Syria.
