Turkish shelling causes material damage to civilians’ property south of Afrin

On Sunday, Turkish shelling which targeted the village of Soghana in the Sherawa district, south of the Afrin region, resulted in the death of 25 sheep owned by the villagers.

Local sources from the Soghana village told North-Press that Turkish forces and affiliated armed groups positioned in the neighboring village of Kemar targeted the village at 9:30 this morning with more than 15 shells.

The sources pointed out that the sheep that died, were owned by Kalin Sabri and Muhammad Jamil from the village, noting that the village witnessed the return of some families, after last summer's displacement due to the almost daily bombing.

Today, on Sunday, Turkish forces and affiliated armed opposition groups bombed the villages of Sherawa and Sharan districts of Afrin, in conjunction with bombing the village of Soghana.

For two years, the village of Soghana, south of Afrin, has been under almost daily bombing with artillery shells fired by the Syrian armed opposition groups and the Turkish military, causing the displacement of more than 150 families from the village, the destruction of several houses, and the injury of dozens of residents, including wounding several women and a child.

On the 8th of last August, Turkish forces and affiliated armed groups targeted the village of Soghana with 100 mortar shells, wounding four people from one family, including a child. Last February, another bombing occurred on the same village caused a similar number of injuries.
