Syrian government official news agency SANA reported late last night that Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes from Lebanon, targeting eastern Homs governorate, while Syrian Air Defense Force shot down a number of them.
SANA did not provide any additional details regarding the strikes and the resulting losses.
The Israeli authorities usually do not comment on such raids in Syria.
On March 5, Israel bombed positions of the Syrian government forces in al-Quneitra governorate, southwest of Syria and areas in Homs, in the center of Syria, according to the official Syrian media outlets.
At the end of February, Israeli helicopters bombed positions of the Syrian government forces in al-Qahtaniyah and al-Hurriyah areas and the city of al-Quneitra, killing one member of the government forces and wounding seven others, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
