On Monday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in northeastern Syria, in cooperation with the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, ended a training course for its Special Forces (HAT).

An official in the Asayish, who was supervising the course that was held at a Coalition's base in al-Jazira region, said that the special forces training program lasted for more than three months, and started last January 1st.

The U.S.-led Global Coalition forces present in northeastern Syria supervised the training of 50 volunteer members of the special forces, according to the Asayish official, who requested not to reveal his name due to security reasons.

He stated to North-Press that the training session, which focused on security raids, was closed, during which the trainees were prevented from leaving the training camp.

The official in the Asayish added that they ended the training course without a graduation ceremony in line with the preventative measures taken against the novel coronavirus epidemic.

He also pointed out that the trainees in the course were subjected to medical tests twice per week, to avoid the possibility of any infections after the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in the world in general and Syria in particular.
