A judge affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front, al-Qaeda's affiliate in Syria), was killed, and others were wounded on Tuesday by an explosive device in the northwestern countryside of Idlib, northwest of Syria.

A field source told North-Press that an explosive device was planted inside a car belonging to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which exploded in the town of Kafr Takharim in the northwestern countryside of Idlib, killing Ali Abdullah Turki, the judge in the "Salqin" sharia court, and wounded two people who were accompanying him.

Three children were also severely injured by the explosion who were near the incident site.

The areas of control of armed opposition groups in the de-escalation zones in the northwest of Syria are witnessing security chaos and weakness in security services, which increase the operations of bombings, assassinations, and kidnappings, according to field sources in the region.

On the 18th of last March, the commander in the National Front for Liberation, Alaa al-Omar was killed as a result of an explosive device that exploded inside his car in the town of Ain al-Bared in Idlib countryside.

The beginning of April also witnessed several explosions in several areas of the western and northern countrysides of Aleppo, which led to casualties, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Yesterday, Monday, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham arrested a military commander in the National Front for Liberation along with some of his militants, in addition to seizing military vehicles and weaponry which were in their possession while switching their guard shift on the Saraqib front in Idlib's eastern countryside, according to what opposition media outlets reported.

The Salafist jihadist militant group Tahrir al-Sham also announced mobilization and erected several security checkpoints in the area.

Violent clashes took place between Tahrir al-Sham and National Front for Liberation on the 12th of last March, when the latter brought in support for the storming of a neighborhood in the town of Sarmada, northern Idlib, which resulted in the injury of 6 militants from both sides, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

With the beginning of the current year, fighting continues between Tahrir al-Sham and the National Front for Liberation in the de-escalation zones in Idlib province, where Tahrir al-Sham conducts continuous attacks in order to control areas and points of the National Front.
