On Tuesday, Russian and Turkish forces conducted a joint military patrol on the Latakia-Aleppo M4 Highway, in conjunction with the flight of Russian warplanes in the airspace of the de-escalation zones in northwestern Syria.

According to a field source in the Idlib countryside, the joint patrol began its path from the town of Tarenba to the outskirts of the town of al-Nairab southeast of Idlib governorate.

The source added that the patrol took place despite the continued presence of sit-ins on the side of M4 highway.

The conduct of the joint Russian-Turkish patrol coincided with flights of Russian warplanes in the airspace of Saraqib, Arihah, and the M4 highway.

Earlier, on the 15th of this month, Turkish and Russian forces conducted a joint patrol, which proceeded from the village of Tarenba, near Saraqib, to the town of al-Nairab, southeast of Idlib governorate.

The first joint Russian-Turkish patrol was conducted on the 15th of last March on the M4 highway, based on the agreement reached in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Erdogan on the 5th of last March, where the patrol started from the town of Tarenba, two kilometers west of Saraqib.
