On Sunday, one person was killed and others injured as Turkish forces and members of their opposition groups targeted protesters on the M4 highway in Idlib, with live bullets.
A field source told North-Press that on Sunday, Turkish forces, accompanied by members of the armed opposition groups, tried to disperse the sit-in organized by residents of Idlib and fighters from the opposition groups against the passage of Russian military patrols by force, which resulted in the killing of one person and injury of three others.
The sit-in point is located east of the town of Neirab, near the town of Tarenba in the southern countryside of Idlib.
On the 13th of this month, a field source told North-Press that clashes took place between Turkish forces and armed opposition groups in addition to residents of Idlib in the area of Neirab to disperse the sit-ins, where Turkish forces responded to the strikes of the opposition and the protesters.
In the first week of this month, sit-ins by residents of Idlib, in northern Syria, forced a joint Russian-Turkish patrol southwest of Saraqeb to retreat.
A field source said to North-Press that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol from the town of Tarenba southwest of Saraqeb to the outskirts of Neirab, while their soldiers and equipment were deployed in the vicinity of Ariha city on the Aleppo – Latakia M4 highway.
Sit-ins on the Aleppo – Latakia (M4) highway prevented Russian and Turkish forces from conducting a joint military patrol.
The protesters threw stones at the joint patrol near the town of Neirab, forcing it to shorten its path and head towards the city of Saraqeb, east of Idlib.
