On Wednesday, the People's Protection Units (YPG) denied links to the bombing that took place in a popular market in the city of Afrin in northern Syria on Tuesday, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
"Some parties that occupied Afrin have held the YPG responsible before verifying," said Nouri Mahmoud, spokesperson for the YPG.
Mahmoud stressed in a statement that "these accusations are unfounded", and denied any association of the units with the bombing.
Turkish Vice President Fouad Oktay accused the YPG of carrying out the bombing.
Earlier, on Wednesday, local sources told North-Press that 61 people were killed while more than 70 others were injured, and that the bombing is the bloodiest among the series of bombings which strike Afrin occasionally.
