On Saturday evening, the counterterrorism forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), known as YAT, arrested two ISIS sleeper agents in two separate operations in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.

On Sunday, a security source told North-Press that YAT targeted afather and son who were in two different houses. They were arrested and transferred to prison, and YAT also confiscated their equipment.

The activities of ISIS sleeper cells have recently increased, especially after the Turkish offensive in northeastern Syria in October of last year after the decision of the US President Donald Trump to withdraw US forces from Syria.

On the other hand, the SDF, with the support of the Global Coalition forces, have intensified their operations against ISIS leaders and members who are deployed over large areas in the countryside of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.

On April 26, YAT arrested a suspect accused of carrying out bombings and causing the deaths of a number of civilians, through a joint operation with the Global Coalition.
