Idlib: second Russian-Turkish patrol resumed on M4 since ceasefire agreement
Idlib – North-Press Agency
On Thursday, a joint Russian-Turkish patrol started on the Aleppo-Latakia (M4) highway amid a flight of Russian reconnaissance and fighter aircraft in Idlib.
A field source told North-Press that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol on the Aleppo-Latakia highway, known as the M4, from the town of Tarnaba to the city of Ariha, returning to its starting point without stopping.
Russian reconnaissance aircraft and warplanes flew over the areas of Jabal al-Zawiya and the city of Idlib, the source added.
On May 5th, Russian and Turkish forces conducted the first joint patrol to completion on the Aleppo-Latakia highway since the ceasefire agreement reached by Russia and Turkey on the 5th of March.
Russian and Turkish vehicles passed through the town of Neirab, which had been witnessing a sit-in since March 13th by residents and IDPs from Idlib to protest against the passage of joint Russian-Turkish patrols, which took the city of Neirab as a point.
A few days earlier, Russian and Turkish forces stopped the conduct of a joint patrol on the M4 highway, which was scheduled to reach the town of Neirab in the southern countryside of Idlib, for reasons unknown.
