On Saturday night, unidentified persons attacked a Sham Legion (an alliance of Sunni Islamist rebel groups) headquarters in the eastern countryside of Idlib, for the second time since early May.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an armed group attacked the Sham Legion headquarters east of the city of Binnish in the eastern countryside of Idlib, leading to clashes between the headquarters' members and the attackers, without information on human casualties.
On May 5th, unidentified individuals attacked the headquarters of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, a Sunni Islamist militant group) near the village of al-Foa in the northern countryside of Idlib, which led to clashes between the two sides, causing casualties among the attackers.
Earlier, on May 3rd, unknown persons raided the headquarters of the Sham Legion in Idlib countryside and seized all of its equipment, including weapons, ammunition, machinery, and mobile devices.
Earlier this month, the region witnessed skirmishes between members of the Sham Legion and HTS in the town of Kafr Takharim in the northwestern countryside of Idlib, after members of Sham Legion took over the town's shared outpost between the two parties.
Since the beginning of this year, security tensions and skirmishes continue between HTS and groups belonging to the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation, at a time when clashes between them and Syrian government forces in the de-escalation zone are frequent.
