SDF base targeted after operations against ISIS in Deir ez-Zor

On Sunday, a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighter lost his life after being shot in al- Hawayij town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor in a series of attacks on SDF points believed to have been carried out by Islamic State (ISIS) cells.
On Sunday afternoon, a landmine exploded near a military vehicle belonging to the Deir ez-Zor Military Council on the road to al-Omar oil field, but no injuries were reported.
An SDF military source told North-Press that on Sunday morning, a number of centers and points belonging to the SDF were attacked, with the attacks believed to be carried out by ISIS.
This came hours after an airborne operation carried out by Global Coalition forces in conjunction with the SDF in al-Basira city in Deir ez-Zor, in pursuit of ISIS cells in the town of Ziban.
On Saturday night, the SDF with the support of Global Coalition forces arrested a number of ISIS sleeper agents in possession of military equipment during an operation in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside.
Two days ago, the counterterrorism units of the SDF carried out a security operation against ISIS cells in al-Basira, which resulted in the arrest of a number of ISIS members and two ISIS militants with Iraqi citizenship blew themselves as the SDF was attempting to arrest them.
