On Thursday, a military leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was killed in Idlib city when an explosive device detonated inside his vehicle. Aircraft also targeted a vehicle in the town of northern Idlib.
A field source told North-Press that an explosive device placed in the car of the HTS leader known as Anas Abu al-Harith al-Hamwi killed him immediately and caused material damage at the site.
The source said that an aircraft targeted a pickup truck near the town of Hazano, north of Idlib, but provided no other information.
The de-escalation zone is witnessing security chaos and repeated attacks by unidentified persons on headquarters belonging to HTS and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups. This comes amid repeated tensions between them, at a time when the region is witnessing escalating operations between government forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups.
