The Global Coalition Against ISIS said on Thursday that it had started training members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to "deter riots" in prisons where ISIS detainees are being held.

In its official Facebook page, the Global Coalition announced the start of training "SDF members (…) on various riots to deter in prisons", within a training camp south of the city of Hasakah.

The Global Coalition pointed out that "one of the main factors in the fight against ISIS is to ensure that ISIS fighters who were arrested remain in detention and that they cannot return to fighting again."

Prisons holding ISIS members in northeastern Syria, especially the al-Sina'a prison in the city of Hasakah, witness riots from time to time.

On Friday May 9th, commander-in-chief of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS (Operation Inherent Resolve), General Pat White, said to North-Press that the United States is committed to assisting the SDF Special Forces to protect prisons that hold ISIS members.
