Turkish forces establish second military post in Zawiya Mountain south of Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces established a new military point in Idlib countryside on Thursday, in conjunction with the entry of two military convoys into the area.
Field sources told North Press that the Turkish forces established a new military post in the village of Mantef in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, to be the second point in the region, increasing the number of Turkish military points in the de-escalation zone to 63.
The establishment of the Turkish post coincided with the entry of two military convoys from the Kafr Losin border crossing with Turkey, consisting of dozens of military vehicles and tanks, heading for the Turkish military bases deployed in Idlib.
Turkey continues to bring in its reinforcements to the region in conjunction with frequent shelling by Russian fighter jets of the region, which belies the possibility of the collapse of the ceasefire agreement reached by Turkey and Russia in early March.
Turkey brought in its latest reinforcements by entering two military convoys into the region on June 5th, including armored military vehicles and logistical materials.
