Turkish and opposition mobilization on frontlines with Syrian forces

(North Press) – A military source told North Press that the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups are mobilizing their forces in the countryside of Tel Tamr and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) near the frontlines with Syrian government forces on Tuesday.

The source, who requested anonymity, pointed out that more reinforcements from both Turkish forces and opposition groups were stationed in the villages of Manajir and Aliya in the southern countryside of Sere Kaniye and the villages extending to Zarkan (Abu Rasin).

Syrian government forces are deployed in the areas taken over by Turkish forces and their armed opposition groups after the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as part the Sochi Agreement between Russia and Turkey.

Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups seized the cities of Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad (Gre Spî) in a military operation known as Peace Spring, which was launched in October 2019.
