Clashes on several fronts, four armed opposition fighters killed in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria – (North Press) – Violent clashes broke out between Syrian government forces and armed opposition groups after midnight Tuesday-Wednesday in the southern Idlib countryside, killing a number of militants from the armed groups.

 

The Benin front in the Zawiya Mountain region witnessed clashes between armed groups and Syrian government forces, the latter attempted to advance in the area, killing four militants of the armed groups and wounding several others.

 

Clashes also took place between militants from the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room and Syrian government forces in the countryside of Maarat al-Numan, without information about casualties, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

 

Front lines between the two sides witnessed mutual and intense artillery bombardment, and the damage was limited to material.

 

On Monday, Syrian government forces shelled Kafr Awaid, the villages of al-Haluba, Fleifel, and al-Fatira in Zawiya Mountain with artillery, causing material damage.

 

Armed opposition groups targeted sites of the Syrian government forces on the frontlines in the village of Hantoutin in Zawiya Mountain southeast of Idlib on Friday, killing and wounding a number of Syrian government soldiers.
