Clashes broke out between Turkish-backed armed opposition groups and Syrian government forces in Benin area in Zawiya Mountain, after the latter's attempt to advance there, which led to the death of four opposition members and more than two injuries.

The Idlib region has been witnessing military escalation since the beginning of June, which led Russian warplanes to participate in the shelling of armed opposition groups headquarters. This may invalidate the cease-fire agreement signed between Ankara and Moscow regarding the de-escalation zone in March.
