Causalities, injuries in motorcycle explosion in Syria’s Afrin

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Two individuals lost their lives and seven were injured when a motorcycle exploded in Afrin city’s Mahmodia district in northwestern Syria.

 

The bike exploded near Habash patrol station in the city center, causing the death of the owner and one other individual, as well as seven injuries, local sources told North Press.

 

The source stated that the injuries were transferred to hospitals in Afrin city, with no information regarding their condition.

 

Afrin has experienced security chaos since the invasion of the Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups in March of 2018. On June 20 of this year, at least four were wounded, including two children, in an explosion near a bakery in Afrin city. More than 60 people died and 70 were injured in an explosion in a popular market in Afrin on April 20 this year.

 

Afrin city has experienced clashes between the two Turkish-backed armed opposition groups Al Hamzat Squad and Ahrar al-Sham, where several civilians lost their lives and eight abducted women were later found in al-Hamzat headquarters.
