VBIED explodes in Syria’s Tel Abyad; reports of casualties

TEL ABYAD, Syria – (North Press) – A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploded in the northern Syrian city of Tel Abyad, which is controlled by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups on Tuesday, causing causalities.

 

An exclusive source told North Press the explosion occurred at al-Forn square in the city center, near the building of the Criminal Security Directorate.

 

"At least two people were killed and wounded, as a preliminary result of the explosion," the source added.

 

The cities of Tel Abyad and Sere Kaniye, which are controlled by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups, have been subjected security chaos and violations against local residents, ranging from theft and looting to rape, kidnapping, and murder, since the Turkish military operation launched in those areas in October 2019.
