VBIED targets Russian-Turkish patrol, injuries expected in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – A VBIED targeted a joint Russian-Turkish patrol on the M4 highway in south Idlib on Tuesday, resulting in a number of injuries among the patrol’s members.
VBIED exploded in Museibin city, west of Ariha city, during the passage of a joint patrol, injuring three individuals believed to be Russian soldiers, and damaging four of the patrol’s vehicles.
A Russian-Turkish joint patrol was conducted on Tuesday on the M4 highway. Turkish forces scouted the road ahead, fearing being targeted.
Turkish forces deployed along the M4 highway to protect the patrol, in conjunction with the flight of reconnaissance planes overhead.
This patrol is the 20th of its kind since the implementation of a Russian-Turkish agreement to conduct joint observatory patrols from March 15.
