At least eight injured due to armory explosion in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – An explosion took place on Wednesday evening in an armory belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Mesherfeh neighborhood, north of the city of Hasakah. The explosion injured at least eight people and caused material damage to the surrounding area. 

 

Explosions were still continuing an hour after the first explosion, and sounds of bullets and bombs can be heard from the armory which lies on Tel Tamr road, far northwest of Hasakah.

 

A North Press correspondent stated that five injured arrived at the National Hospital in the Aziziyah neighborhood, while three others arrived in the field hospital northwest of the city, without any information about their health conditions so far.

 

A source from the fire department said that there is most likely material damage in the neighboring areas, but it is likely limited to windows and other minor damages.

 

The reason for the explosion is still unknown, and the SDF has not yet commented on the incident.
