HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A US patrol consisting of four military vehicles headed from one of the Global Coalition bases in the city of Hasakah to the oil-rich Rumailan region in northeastern Syria on Monday afternoon.
After leaving the base, the patrol took the eastern road of the city, heading towards the town of Hawl, the town of Tel Hamis and finally to Rumailan.
According to a security source, the patrol headed to check the oil fields as part of its regular conducted tours.
The patrol is the first to head from Hasakah towards Rumailan after the announcement of an agreement between the Autonomous Administration and the American Delta Energy company to invest in the oil fields.
Global Coalition bases are set up in and around the city of Hasakah and south of Rumailan. U.S. armored vehicles typically patrol the vicinity of the city, the M4 highway, and the vicinity of the town of Tel Tamr.
