Causalities and injuries in an explosion in Syria’s Afrin

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – An official from the Sham Legion lost his life and more than eight were injured on Sunday in Afrin city, northwestern Syria, due to an explosive device placed in a Hyundai Santa Fe car.

“An official in Sham Legion was killed and more than 8 were wounded, among which were critical and minor injuries, due to an explosive device explosion in a military car in the city center of Afrin,” a local source told North Press.

On July 5, another explosive device detonated in the city center inside a military car near the headquarters of the Turkish-backed opposition group Hamzat Legion, in which the driver lost his life and two were injured.

On June 24, two were killed and around seven were injured when a VBIED exploded in Afrin’s Mahmodia district.

Afrin has been witnessing security chaos including kidnapping, theft, and murder, which has led to the death and injury of dozens of residents there, since Turkey and its affiliated opposition groups took over Afrin on March 18, 2018.
