Syrian government forces target supply routes in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Over the past two days, Syrian government forces intensified shelling on the south of Idlib countryside, targeting the supply paths in Zawiya Mountain, a local source from Idlib said on Monday.

The source told North Press that the Syrian government's intensive shelling on the south of Idlib is considered as the beginning of its operation to take over the countryside of Idlib without an official announcement.

Syrian government forces' artillery shelled a number of villages and roads that connect them to Zawiya Mountain, and no casualties were recorded.

Turkish-backed armed opposition groups and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)  which are affiliated with the Fateh Mobin operations room, retaliated by targeting Syrian government forces' points in the Idlib countryside.

The armed opposition groups shelled Syrian government sites in Kafr Nabl in the southern Idlib countryside, causing injuries among Syrian government ranks.

Syrian government shelling on south Idlib caused a wave of displacement towards safer areas in Idlib or the northern countryside of the city.
