Shelling on Idlib, fierce clashes in Latakia countryside

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian jets shelled areas in the eastern  countryside of Idlib on Monday, while the Latakia countryside witnessed clashes between Syrian government forces and armed opposition groups.

Russian jets targeted farms on the outskirts of Binnish city and Foaa village with missiles, resulting in a number of wounded among civilians.

Meanwhile, Syrian government forces' artillery shelled sites in Binnish and Foaa.

In Hdada, in the northern countryside of Latakia, clashes have been ongoing between the opposition Fateh Mobin operations room and Syrian government forces and its affiliated militias as the latter has attempted to advance in the region.

Clashes took place coinciding with mutual artillery shelling between the two sides, that targeted military sites and points, without recorded losses.

These events come after a VBIED targeted a Russian-Turkish joint patrol on July 14 on the M4 Highway, as Russian jets re-shelled villages in the southern Idlib countryside and Latakia.
