Hasakah – North-Press Agency
An Iraqi young man refugee was killed in al-Hawl camp, northeastern Syria, by unidentified persons who infiltrated his tent at night and beat him with sharp objects.
According to a security source in al-Hawl camp told North-Press that the Iraqi refugee, called Muhammad Shehadeh was beaten with a sharp object on his head when he was asleep.
The source added that the infiltrators are believed to be two men in black veil, just like what the rest of the women in the camp wear, which shelters about 71 thousands IDPs and refugees.
Moreover, eyewitnesses said that “the motive behind killing the young man was his rejection of the radical Islamic ideology of which many of the camp’s residents hold, as he had been already threatened because his behavior contradicted their ideology”.
The Iraqi young man refugee was rushed into a hospital in Hasakah as a result of the severe injury, where he lost his life this morning.
