Civilians injured in landmine explosion in Syria’s western Hama province

HAMA, Syria (North Press) – Eight civilians were injured on Thursday in a landmine explosion in Syrian government-held areas in Hama countryside.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the civilians were wounded while working in a pistachio field.

The wounded were transferred to Hama hospitals, including one in critical situation, the observatory added.

Earlier this week, two brothers lost their lives in a landmine explosion in the east of Palmyra in Syrian government-held areas east of Homs countryside.

Areas in Homs, Hama, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo and Daraa, that witnessed attacks between armed opposition groups and Syrian government forces, are witnessing repeated injuries due to landmine explosions and collapse of cracked buildings. 

According to the Syrian observatory, about 320 civilian have lost their lives in explosions, including 65 woman and 99 children since 2019.
