Sterilization campaign against coronavirus for IDP centers and official institutions in Tel Tamr

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – The municipality of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, started sterilizing the official departments and IDP centers in the town on Saturday as part of its precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

This move came after the Health Board in the Jazira region announced the registration of four infections with the new coronavirus, three of which were detected in the city of Qamishli and one in Hasakah.

Muhammad Dawi, the administrator of the Environment Department of the Tel Tamr municipality, told North Press that they restarted a sterilization campaign to fight the coronavirus pandemic after it appeared again in the region.

He pointed out that they targeted accommodation centers and city institutions, as they are the most mixed places.

"The campaign is for one day only, and will be completed at the beginning of August, to include public facilities, houses, institutions, and the countryside," he added.

Earlier on Friday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced a set of preventative measures to limit the spread of corona virus, in terms of preventing gatherings and maintaining physical distancing, and urged its institutions in the crossings to enact strict health measures on goods and people.
