Deir ez-Zor Civil Council listens to Syrian tribal and community leaders’ complaints

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Deir el-Zor Civil Council met with the sheikhs and leaders of clans of the eastern region of Deir ez-Zor to listen to their complaints regarding the security and living situation due to the economic crisis in Syria on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by the co-chair of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, Ghassan al-Youssef, in the presence of members of the council and workers from the Autonomous Administration.
The meeting was held in order to improve services and alleviate the suffering of the residents of eastern Deir ez-Zor, especially as it is the area which was most affected by military operations against ISIS, according to Youssef.
“The Civil Council receives many demands from the people of the region to provide support and aid," said al-Youssef, adding that they will hold many other meetings to listen to their demands.
“We will discuss all the requirements, and there is an economic plan to achieve security and stability, restructure the regions, and support various aspects of economic life," al-Youssef told North Press.
Sheikh Hayes Sajijan al-Muhammad, from the al-Buherdan clan in the Hajin area, told North Press that, “We came today carrying our people’s needs in Hajin area, which was completely destroyed."
Head of the Bukamal /Jazira Tribal Assembly, Nasser Dergham al-Khalaf, told North Press that they "called for providing services and various basic needs," and they hope the council will meet their requests in order to alleviate people’s suffering.
