Vaccination campaign in Syria’s Manbij resumes after two-month lockdown against coronavirus

MANBIJ, Syria – (North Press) – The Health authority in the city of Manbij in the Autonomous Administration of northeast Syria said it resumed vaccination on Monday to benefit thousands of children after it was suspended as part of lockdown against the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the region.

Omar Hammoud, director of Health Authority in Manbij, said the vaccine campaign is part of the regular periodic vaccination campaigns launched by the Health Board in Manbij almost every month, but it stopped for about two months, due to the precautionary measures against coronavirus.

Hammoud pointed out that the vaccines were provided by Aleppo Health Directorate affiliated to the Syrian government, explaining that about 7,000 children to be covered by the vaccination campaign in the city of Manbij and its countryside.

It is noteworthy that there are 10 health centers in Manbij and its countryside, 2 in the city and 8 in the countryside.
