On Thursday, fire broke out in agricultural fields in Umm al-Keyf village 4 km north of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, which is under constant bombardment by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups.

Local sources told North-Press that fire broke out in the agricultural fields due to the bombing of the Turkish-backed groups on Umm al-Keyf, and the fire is still burning.

The same sources indicated that emergency and firefighting teams rushed to the village fields and were trying to put the fire out with the assistance of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and residents from surrounding villages.

A video obtained by North Press showed columns of smoke rising from agricultural fields near Tel Tamr.

Umm al-Keyf, along with its neighboring villages, has been under almost daily bombardment by Turkish forces and armed opposition groups since the Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria in October last year.

Since the start of the harvest this year, local sources have accused Turkish-backed opposition groups of setting fire to agricultural fields under their control or close to the frontlines with Syrian government forces.
