106 coronavirus infections in Syria after 20 new cases were recorded

Coronavirus infections in Syria have reached 106 on Monday after recording 20 new infections among Syrians arriving from abroad on Eid al-Fitr.

 

The Syrian Ministry of Health announced recording of 20 new cases of the virus among Syrians coming from abroad, including 15 from Kuwait, three from Sudan, one from Russia and one from the Emirates.

 

The ministry said, according to the Syrian government's news agency SANA, that "the total number oc infections recorded in Syria has reached 106 today, of which 41 have recovered and four have died, while 61 are undergoing treatment."

The number of infections has increased due to the emergence of a number of infections among those who returned to Syria during the holiday. The Ministry of Health announced yesterday, Sunday, the registration of 16 new cases of coronavirus among Syrians arriving and the recovery of four recorded cases.

 

Last Saturday, a member of Russian forces was infected in Tartous.

 

The last local case was registered by the Ministry on May 2, while it was announced that all new infections were coming from abroad, according to official data.

 

The first case in Syria was recorded on March 22 of a person coming from outside the country, while the first death was recorded on the 29th of the same month.
