Two coronavirus cases recorded in northeast Syria – Health Board
Qamishli – North-Press Agency
Dr. Manal Muhammad, the co-chair of the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration in al-Jazira region, told North Press that the results of the test of two suspects showed that they are infected with coronavirus. One of them is in Hasakah city and the other is in Qamishli, northeastern Syria.
Dr. Muhammad stated that the results conducted via the PCR device showed the infection of two people with coronavirus, saying: “One of them is subjected to quarantine in the city of Hasakah, and the other is in the National Hospital in Qamishli.”
Dr. Muhammad added that the Autonomous Administration will take all the appropriate measures to limit the spread of the virus, and that the neighborhoods in which the two infected people lived will be isolated.
On April 17, the Health Board in northeastern Syria announced the death of a person on April 2 after being infected with coronavirus, as the World Health Organization (WHO) was late to inform the Health Board of the death of the person as a result of the infection.
At the time, and through a statement, the Health Board held WHO responsible for the existence or spread of coronavirus in its regions, accusing it of “keeping a suspicious case secret, without informing the Autonomous Administration, which is in charge of running these areas.”
