The Social Affairs and Labor Committee of the Raqqa Civil Council continues for the fifth consecutive day of the month of Ramadan the distribution of food aid and baskets within the "Ramadan Table" project, which includes the distribution of 5,000 food baskets.

Turki al-Dandal of the Presidential Commission for the Social Affairs and Labor Committee in the Civil Council of Raqqa told North-Press that 200 food baskets will be daily distributed daily in Raqqa and its countryside to families whose living situations were previously studied by the committee's delegates.

Al-Dandal pointed out that the value of each food basket reaches about 70,000 Syrian pounds, which is distributed to poor families, widows and people with special needs, and includes sugar, tea, rice, lentils, oil, dates, and margarine."

The Social Affairs and Labor Committee of the Raqqa Civil Council assigned a special team of committee members within the "Ramadan Table" project before the month of fasting to study and investigate the status of poor families in Raqqa and its countryside, separately from the communes and neighborhood councils.

Al-Dandal noted that the food baskets within the "Ramadan Table" arrive in the homes of poor families without even the knowledge of the neighborhood, in order to preserve their privacy and prevent embarrassment.

At the beginning of Ramadan, several community initiatives were launched to provide aid and assistance to many families by local individuals, organizations and associations in Raqqa, including the "Good People" initiative launched by a group of young people in Raqqa city to help low-income people.
