The commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, said on Saturday that the process of uniting the Kurdish ranks is witnessing remarkable progress.

Abdi said that the opinions and positions of the political parties are "positive and responsive" to the initiative launched last October.

In a press conference held in the city of Qamishli after his meeting with a delegation of civil society activists in the Euphrates region today, Saturday, Abdi called on the political parties to make greater efforts towards the unification of the Kurdish movement.

Abdi indicated that the Kurdish parties, the Kurdish National Council, the Democratic Union Party, and the rest of the political parties are responding to the initiative to unite the ranks, and that "the masses, on their part, show their solidarity with these efforts."

Abdi expressed his hope that the efforts of his initiative will achieve "good" results in the coming period, stressing the need for concerned parties to respond to these efforts, as he described.

A delegation of civil society activists in the Euphrates region met Commander Abdi with the aim of advancing efforts to achieve a political rapprochement between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the Kurdish National Council, and other Kurdish political parties in the region.
