Last night, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in Raqqa governorate, northern Syria, managed to capture four people who smuggle civilians from Syrian government territories into the areas of the Autonomous Administration in Raqqa.
The Asayish said in a statement published on Facebook that these people were smuggling civilians from the area of Maadan in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, which is under the control of the Syrian government, and then crossing them over the Euphrates River to the area of Jazra al-Buhamid in the Kasrah district in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor governorate.
Meanwhile, emergency and ambulance teams in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent transferred the civilians (passengers) to quarantine centers in Tabqah city to make sure they are not infected with coronavirus.
On March 14th, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a decision to confront the risks of the spread of the coronavirus, among which was stopping the movement of individuals through the crossings.
The administration statement said at the time, "No one is allowed to enter through all the crossings of the Autonomous Administration except for those who are residents of northeast Syria, and it is allocated on Tuesday of each week to enter."
