Autonomous Administration receives two medical laboratories from Kurdistan Region of Iraq to detect coronavirus

On Sunday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria received two medical laboratories from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region to detect coronavirus, one of which will be allocated for al-Jazira region. The other will be sent to another region in northeastern Syria.

Dr. Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the Health Board in northeastern Syria told North-Press that they have received the two laboratories, and that about 25 doctors, technicians and nurses are being subjected to training on these two laboratories.

Dr. Mustafa added that one of the two laboratories will be allocated for al-Jazira region, while the other one will be sent to another, still unnamed region, in northeastern Syria.

Dr. Mustafa said that receiving these two laboratories is a very significant step in the field of diagnosing the infection of coronavirus in northeastern Syria.

On Sunday, Commander-in-Chief of the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi tweeted on his official account, thanking Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, the president of Kurdistan Region of Iraq, for his response to their call for sending two medical laboratories to detect coronavirus.

General Abdi referred to the possibility of the Kurdistan Region sending more laboratories in support of efforts to combat the COVID-19 epidemic in northeastern Syria.
