On Sunday, a Russian military delegation met with Arab tribal leaders and figures and the administration of the Tal Tamr council, 40 km northwest of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, to discuss the service and security situation in the area upon an invitation by the local tribal leaders in the town and its countryside.
Jiwan Mulla Ayoub, the co-chair of the Tal Tamr Council, told North-Press that during the meetings the Russian delegation focused on the demands of the locals of the area regarding service matters such as water and electricity, which are witnessing repeated interruptions due to shelling by the Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups on vital facilities in the area.
He pointed out that the participants of the meeting expressed their rejection of the Turkish army taking advantage of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) Hospital by turning it into a reception center for people infected with the coronavirus.
The co-chair of the Tal Tamr Council also stressed that the tribal leaders called on the Russians to remove the "Turkish occupation" from their villages so that the displaced people, now living in camps, could return to their lands again, pointing out that the Russian delegation "promised to gradually address these problems."
According to Mulla Ayoub, Russia agreed to continue to hold meetings periodically.
This comes in conjunction with Russian forces' regular patrol in Tal Tamr, starting from the Russian military point at al-Mabaqir station, north of the town.
