In a statement issued on Friday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, said that they managed to arrest two women with a smuggler while he was trying to smuggle them from Qamishli Airport, without being subjected to tests by the medical team of the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration, after they arrived in Qamishli on board a civilian flight coming from Damascus.

The statement added that the security forces managed to arrest two women with a smuggler while he was trying to smuggle them through the buildings surrounding the airport, in order not to be subjected to quarantine procedures which are supervised by the Health Board with the support of the Internal Security Forces.

The statement pointed out they were stopped at one of the military points of the Internal Security Forces, after which they would be transferred to a quarantine center after taking the necessary measures.

In its statement, the security forces said that their forces are taking all precautionary measures to subject all arrivals to quarantine in private centers, for fear of being infected of coronavirus, after Syrian government's Ministry of Health announced several cases in the country, and closing some residential neighborhoods in Damascus after doubts about its transformation to focal points of the epidemic.

The Health Board of al-Jazira region sent travelers coming from Damascus to quarantine centers, after arriving at Qamishli Airport last Sunday.

Deputy co-presidency of Health Board, Muhammad Khalaf, told North Press that all arrivals were subjected to medical tests, such as body temperature, and then they were transferred to quarantine centers.

He added that those arriving at the airport will spend the specified period of the quarantine, which is 14 days, according to the decision of the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration.
