A 10-year-old child died and his father was injured in a landmine explosion, today, in the village of Sarzuri, 37 km east of the city of Kobani, northern Syria.

Nejdet Jemmo, the brother of the deceased child, told North-Press that his father Jamal Jemmo and his brother Khaled Jemmo, 10 years old, were visiting one of his father's friends while the mine exploded in their car near the village of Sarzuri.

Nejdet said that his father is receiving treatment at Kobani Hospital and that his health condition is currently stable, noting that his father's car was burned by the explosion.

The countryside of Kobani witnesses mine explosions which were earlier planted by the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) in the region, where two persons lost their lives and five others were injured by a mine explosion in a civilian car in the village of Zour Maghar, west of Kobani, on July 30 last year.
