After years of interruption, Amude Team winning the Syrian Women’s Football League

The Syrian Women’s Football League continued its activities in Syria after interruption for years, where Amude Women’s Football Club won the title of the Syrian Women’s League championship despite the non-completion of the second stage after defeating Jaramana Women Team by three goals to nil, to be on top of the list of the overall ranking.
In an interview with North-Press, Ibrahim Salfij, the head of Amude Women Club said that, "The female players had many matches and were subjected to great pressure and fatigue as a result of travel, but in the second phase the situation was better and the team played five matches, in which it won four of them and tied in one, to top the list of the ranking of the participating teams and crowned the league regardless of the results of the remaining matches.”
He added, "The team includes a number of female players in the ranks of the Syrian junior team, and it has made a good preparation for the championship. We also set up a closed camp in the city of Qamishli, most of the players are from Qamishli, Amude and Derik (Malikiya).”
Ibrahim stated that what Amude team achieved is a football miracle, especially after it exceeded the customs and traditions of the people in the region, and thanks to the players' families who understood and contributed to the success of their daughters, who left a mark and radiance in the stadiums of Damascus.
He also sent a message to sports' fans saying: "There is no money to win titles, but with the will, determination and understanding between the team members and the public, achievements can be gained.” This is what happened, and the talents must be nurtured by those involved.
Ahi Muhammad, a team midfielder, who also played in the ranks of Syria Junior Women team, said that she faced difficulties, and underwent a training camp in Qamishli, and that she gave this title to Syria and to her people in Qamishli and Hasakah.
While Mern Daham, the defensive midfielder in Amode team said that her first experience was in the year 2004 with al-Mouhafaza Team and she had a professional experience in Iraq in 2016 with Zerevani Team.
She played alongside Amude Team and won the Women’s League after several matches in which the teams were convergent in terms of level, and she aspires to participate in the Asian and foreign championships.
The Syrian Women’s Football League returned to its activities after a seven-year pause, to include in its new version the teams of (Amude, Hama Police, Homs, Jaramana, Damascus al-Arabi, al-Suwayda Labor).
