Raqqa Youth Council concluded a nursing course, the fourth of its kind, which included 60 trainees. The course lasted nearly for two months at Raqqa Youth Council, where the trainees underwent the basics of nursing in practical and theoretical ways.
Malik al-Abdullah, an administrative member of Raqqa Youth Council and a supervisor of the training sessions in the council explained to North-Press the trainees received medical training and the basics of nursing, noting the trainees are ready to work in the hospitals, dispensaries and nursing clinics. He pointed out that they have given the graduates a graduation certificate according to their evaluation within the course on three levels (average, good, and very good), pointing to the continuity of opening the courses in the council.
For his part, Nurse Issa al-Hamoud, the course supervisor told North-Press that the purpose of opening nursing courses is to support health staff in the city of Raqqa, "because we lack medical expertise in the city," he said.
The trainee Faisal al-Wasil explained the benefits he obtained from the course and his goal of joining it, by saying: "I joined this course for two purposes, the first one is humanitarian and the second is learning a profession that provides me a financial income,” noting that he learned the basics of nursing in a record time.
The trainee Hadiya Muhammad Ali also indicated that her aim of attending the nursing course is to obtain a job in a hospital or a medical center in Raqqa, adding, "I liked this work because it benefits people.”
Haya Zuhair al-Mustafa, a trainee, also explained that she learned everything related to nursing, the practical and theoretical sections and that she is ready for work.
The opening of medical courses supports the health sector in Raqqa, where the city generally lacks medical expertise.
