Random gunshots kill a woman in Qamishli ahead of New Year’s Day

A woman named Zorin Abdul Rahman has lost her life on Monday evening, after being hit by a stray gunshot near her home in Qamishli, in northeastern Syria.
Zorin's husband, Mohammed Khair Mala, said that his wife was shot behind her head as she and her sister went to a nearby clothing store, adding that he and her brother, who were sitting in the house moved her into the hospital, but she died after arriving at the hospital.
Zorin, was the mother of a four-year-old girl. She lived with her husband, who worked as a driver in Qamishli, in the western neighborhood, opposite to al-Rahman Mosque.
An official source in the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) told North-Press that I investigations are continuing to identify and arrest the shooter.
Christmas and New Year's celebrations usually witness random shootings and firecrackers, that caused numerous injuries during the previous years.
The Internal Security forces warned in a statement, in which they published measures that came into effect on December 28th, against firing shots by residents or military and security forces, subject to liability.
