The Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria has issued a decision to increase the salaries of workers and employees in the administration region, at a meeting held by the Presidential Body of the Executive Council with the Finance Authority on Wednesday.

The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Autonomous Administration in the town of Ein Issa, northern Raqqa, included an increase of 35% of the salary, as it was announced on the official website of northeastern Syria Autonomous Administration.

The decision of the Administration to increase the salaries of employees came after the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar, and the high prices of goods and necessities of life in the markets.

It is worth mentioning that the Syrian presidency announced last Thursday a raising in the salaries and wages of the Syrian government employees. The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued the Legislative Decree No. 32 for the year 2019, to increase 20,000 Syrian pounds on the monthly salaries of the military and civilian, after the integration of the current living compensation with the basis of the lump-sum salary to be part of it.

The Legislative Decree No. 24 for 2019 also included an increase of 16,000 Syrian pounds for military and civilian pensioners, as well as the addition of the living compensation to their pension.

The Syrian presidency said that the two decrees came as a follow-up to the economic changes and their repercussions; and after a series of deliberations began at the mid-year between the teams and the relevant government committees, and discussing all the data, and after the ratification of the results of the Economic Committee and presented them to the Council of Ministers in its last session.
